When a holiday falls on Sunday, the Federal Reserve observes it the following Monday. When it falls on Saturday, Reserve Banks operate normally on Friday, but many bank branches that usually open Saturdays stay closed. Individual banks can set their own hours — verify with your bank before visiting.
