Are banks open today?
Most bank branches are closed on Sundays and Federal Reserve holidays; some open on Saturdays with hours varying by location. This check uses your device's date and the official Federal Reserve holiday schedule to tell you whether today is a bank business day.
What closes and what keeps working
On non-business days, branches are closed and settlement systems pause: ACH transfers, wire transfers and direct deposits wait for the next business day. Money sent late Friday typically starts processing Monday (or Tuesday after a Monday holiday).
ATMs, debit and credit cards, mobile apps and online banking work every day. Mobile check deposits can be submitted any time but are credited on business days.
Some branches open Saturday mornings even though Saturday is not a bank business day. Hours vary by bank and location — verify with the bank before visiting.
